We are delighted to express our sincere thanks to the editorial team of the magazine “Illustrated World History” and journalist Ilze Grīnuma for the extensive article on the development of cycling in Latvia published in the latest issue.
The October 2025 issue has been released today, presenting the history of cycling through six engaging feature articles:
- 1️⃣ Which came first: the bicycle or the train
- 2️⃣ How the “Senču Sils” velodrome was built
- 3️⃣ The beginning of the century with the kings of cycling
- 4️⃣ Cycling in summer, skating in winter
- 5️⃣ The bell signals the start of the decisive lap

The articles also feature photographs that our association has digitized, restored, and in some cases even colorized over recent years. These images complement the historical narratives of cycling and speed skating in Latvia and are enriched with other unique materials donated to our association by athletes, their families, and close associates.
