A few days ago, a member of the association visited the late Ringolds Kalnenieks. Sitting in the living room by his desk and sharing a cup of coffee, Ringolds spoke with a smile about his sporting achievements, adventures, training sessions, and, of course, also mentioned his fellow competitors of that era. His stories were filled with warmth and nostalgia, reminding us of times when sport was not only about competition, but also about friendship, team spirit, and perseverance.
On that day, Ringolds donated a box of photographs to the association – unique testimonies of sporting life, behind-the-scenes moments, and unforgettable experiences that shaped his journey. These photographs capture competition victories, team training sessions, as well as everyday moments that characterize the spirit of sport of that time.
In order to preserve and honor Ringolds’s legacy, this article includes several of the photographs he donated, allowing us to remember together and pay tribute to an outstanding athlete and personality – Ringolds Kalnenieks.
We would like to add that, unfortunately, the photographs do not include information about the year they were taken, the locations, or the people depicted, as Ringolds had planned to provide this information during a subsequent meeting.
