From the family of Vladimir Ribakov, we have received 220 photographs that will be digitized. In this article, we share what we consider to be the most interesting of them.

Vladimir Ribakov became Latvian champion 19 times and won medals at the USSR Championships
on eight occasions.
According to a statement by the LRF:
“Vladimir Ribakov was valued by his contemporaries not only for his sporting achievements.
He was charismatic, always friendly, with a good sense of humor and a willingness to help others.
Ribakov’s jokes are still remembered by his peers. In sporting terms, he expressed himself most
vividly in individual time trials. Ribakov spent a large part of his life in Varakļāni, where a
cycling marathon is organized in his memory. He is also regarded as an honorary citizen by the
residents of Smiltene, as he experienced many memorable moments in this Vidzeme town.”
